Maintenance & Tuning
3BT™ boards can be waxed and scraped like any other snowboard. When it comes to heavier work like base grinding, we recommended it be done by a knowledgeable tech on a machine with 3 separate rollers. Although the base has uplift, there are actually 3 flat sections so they can be ground evenly.

1. Clean the snowboard
Before doing any maintenance, clean your snowboard to remove dirt, snow, and grime. What You’ll Need: A damp cloth or sponge, soft brush, mild soap (optional), and water.Wipe down the edges and base with a damp cloth or sponge.Use a soft brush to remove any stubborn dirt.Dry the board completely to avoid rust on the edges.
-
2. Inspect the snowboard
Check for any damage or wear on your board, including:Base Damage: Scratches, gouges, or significant wear.Edge Condition: Any cracks, chips, or rust.Bindings: Ensure they’re securely attached, with no wear or loose parts.
-
3. Sharpen the edges
Over time, the edges can dull from use, and sharpening them will improve your control. What You’ll Need: A diamond stone, edge tool, and file.Using an edge tool, remove any rust from the edges with a diamond stone.Hold the file at an angle (usually 88–90 degrees for all-mountain boards, but check your board’s recommendations).File along the edge, keeping a steady motion to avoid uneven sharpening. After filing, use a diamond stone to smooth the edges and remove any burrs.
-
4. Waxing the base
Waxing your snowboard helps the board glide smoothly and protects the base from drying out. What You’ll Need: Snowboard wax, waxing iron (not too hot), scraper, brush.Using the waxing iron, melt the snowboard wax onto the base in a zig-zag pattern.Let the wax melt evenly on the board, then spread it with the iron (prevent burning the base).Allow the board to cool down for 15-20 minutes.Use a plastic scraper to remove the excess wax. After scraping, use a soft brush to buff the base and remove any remaining wax particles.

5. Store Your Snowboard Properly
When you're not using your snowboard, it's important to store it in a way that helps preserve its condition.Store your board in a cool, dry place.Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or damp conditions. If you won’t be using your snowboard for a long time, consider putting it in a board bag to protect it from dust, moisture, and damage.
